casino winner story

My casino winner story actually began in June with my first visit to the new Red Rock resort in Las Vegas. As a veteran Station Casinos player, I was invited in and went for three days. Loved the casino, loved the hotel, loved the food, couldn't hit ANYTHING on the VP machines. Lost $3,800!! Went back in mid-July -- 112 or more every day -- and still couldn't hit anything. Lost $4,300 in three days!!! (I'm a bit of a VP addict -- play 8 to 10 hours a day when in Vegas.)

Went back to LV to meet friends from Canada over Labor Day weekend and stayed at Green Valley Ranch, where I was very hot. Had a 50-cent Royal for $2,212; then Four Aces With Kicker on a dollar progressive for $2,154. Friends left on Labor Day, leaving me with a day to kill, so I decided to give Red Rock one more try. They've got four banks of progressive dollar Double-Double VP machines and I tried all the machines on two of them with no success. Planned to leave after the final machine on the second bank when I hit Four Aces (no kicker) for $800. Decided to try another bank and chose one with 8 machines and progressives on all bonus hands. It looked good because the Royal jackpot was at $4,650 and the progressives on both Four Aces, No Kicker and Four 2's, 3's, 4's With Kicker were very high -- $891 on the former, $905 on the latter. Put $40 in each of the 8 machines, hitting Four 3's on one (no kicker) for $400. So, since I was $80 ahead, decided to try another round. Played $40 in six of the machines and was down to my last $10 on No. 7 when I was dealt a hand containing the Ace-Jack of Spades. Held them and hit the draw button -- and in flashed the other three Spade face cards. Wow! I leaped out of the chair, yelled "Yes!" and turned to take a closer look at my $4,650 jackpot hand -- except for one thing:

The screen was flashing: "Jackpot!! $50,000!!!"

You see, my hand had come in Ace-King-Queen-Jack-10 and this happened to be one of their special Reversible Royals machines. I'd hit the sequential Royal.

$50,000 on a $5.00 bet -- on a three-card draw!!! Now that's a REAL casino winner's story!!

P.S. -- Stayed hot and brought home $53,245 -- even after tips and celebration! Quite a Labor Day!
